"Paper Ball: Revealed"
watercolor on rough paper
30" x 22"
V 2011
I would call this work a still life, because I was painting it from an actual folded paper that once was a paper ball.
A simple idea became a challenging task for me, it was really easy to get lost in many wrinkles and folds, shadows and lights. To push a visual trick trompe l'oeil a little further and "deceive the eye" of my viewer I tore the paper on the sides.
I used indian paper Khadi and ivory black color.
