"59th and 7th in the Snow"
or "Snow Confetti"
watercolor on rough paper
90" x 52"

The snow storm in December 2010 was an event I will never forget. I keep coming back to it and continue on painting snow views of New York. When I was coming out from Central Park I took a photograph in the corner of 59th street and 7th Ave, the color palette amazed me! Car, street lights, windows light, trying to get through the tons of the falling snow was fuzzed out and mixed in with the surroundings, creating a play of the colorful gamma and erasing of the sharpness of reality. Unbelievable experience. I gave this my work a second name "Snow Confetti", because that's what I feel every time I look at it. I really enjoyed working with this piece, it is mainly painted by splashing to approach the effect of rounder atmospheric effect.
